Doctors get all sorts of information, via post, on-line, through reps and word-of-mouth.
Sometimes we even listen! And occasionally I get so stirred up by what I read that I can’t control it, I have to tell you all.
You all know how much I dislike interfering with nature and how I hate using standard HRT.
Well, up to now, I have reluctantly, very reluctantly, prescribed Livial for some women who are, for instance, going overseas and cannot take with them creams or troches that cannot handle the heat. Or maybe they are so used to HRT that I sometimes use Livial to get them off it by stages.
Well, no more.
The 17 February edition of an on-line doctors’ magazine called 6-Minutes reports on a study of no less than 33 separate clinical trials and have found that Livial (tibolone) increased the risk of breast cancer in some patients when it was used “for more than a year” (!!!) And it increased the risk of stroke in women over 60 years old!
That, ladies, is why I believe in working WITH the natural world, not against it. We have to take note of the inherent value of our own hormones and we should try to avoid synthetic hormones the way we should be avoiding synthetic people and synthetic emotions.
Life rolls on so very much more easily when we follow the natural principles and stay in touch with our own energy systems and their effects.
Those of you who have heard me speak know how committed I am to enlarging our understanding of the natural world and how Mind-Body medicine will eventually be standard teaching for all health professionals, not just psychologists and psychiatrists.
If you want to know more about Mind-Body medicine, don’t forget that our May seminar will have lots and lots of really cool techniques that you can use immediately for yourself and your loved ones.
But meanwhile, no more synthetic HRT or Livial!!

Hi Dr McGill
You sound like the kind of Dr I need to see.!!
There is a ‘cutting edge’ Dr Jack Kruze in the states whose philosopy concurs with yours.
Could you please check out his site cause you both are very clever folk!

And God Bless you!
I have been on livial for 6 months and found a little improvement in my well being but over the last say month, I have felt so lethargic, headaches with nausea. Dont feel great – what do you recommend??
Thanks
Hi there
I suggest you get off the Livial, and get your hormone levels tested before trying bioidential (natural) hormones.
Best wishes
Maura
Clinical trials are sets of tests in medical research and drug development that generate safety and efficacy data (or more specifically, information about adverse drug reactions and adverse effects of other treatments) for health interventions (e.g., drugs, diagnostics, devices, therapy protocols). They are conducted only after satisfactory information has been gathered on the quality of the nonclinical safety, and health authority/ethics committee approval is granted in the country where approval of the drug or device is sought. ,-;’
