Just had a great day, talking to the women at Fenix Gym in Nerang. Is there anything more uplifting than to see a roomful of women laughing and ready to take steps to make themselves better in any way they can!
We had Renaldo, with the un-pronounceable surname, tell us about super-foods. We had Caroline tell us about her strength training, and for once I was not ready to throw up at the idea of going to a gym and doing some weights! Then I did my thing about hormones, just a short presentation, and then we had Tamika tell us about mind-body connections! If I had scoured the district for like-minded speakers, I could not have come up with a better match!! Thank you, Caroline.
I heard Ronaldo talk the talk about excess oestrogen in foods, which I have spoken about a lot. I heard Tamika talk about Prof Emoto’s ice crystals, right out of my Magical Menopause presentation! Such a pity we had to let you girls go home as there was so much more we all could have told you.
Now why is it that this was the very first time I felt a connection to anyone at a gym?? I have been going to the occasional (VERY occasional) session at the physiotherapist and I know I should do more exercise, but what is the opposite word to gym junkie? That’s me.
The smell of sweaty bodies…. I get enough of that at the clinic. The boredom of gym work…but now I have my iPhone, so what’s the problem? As they said today, my head is not in the right place yet.
BUT there is hope. I remembered that I lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago by walking and chanting “Thin and beautiful, under 80 kilos. Thin and beautiful, under 80 kilos”, and guess what? I went down to exactly 79.1kg. Amazing. Now I have chanted the same but “under 70 kilos” and now I’m 69.8 kg!!
The other mind trick I used was to imagine my fat body as a suit I was wearing, with a huge zip down the front and down the front of each leg. I used to imagine unzipping the suit and stepping out of the fat me into a thin body and walking/running around in that thin body for a while. I felt my waist being thin, my legs being slender and agile, and my mind being free of my ‘prison’. It worked for me, so you try it too!
Boy, the power we have and don’t use! If we only could realise that we can access that power anywhere, anytime, we could change the world.
Speaking of which, it was World Peace Meditation on Sunday at 6.30pm. If you missed it, the Universe will accept your meditation any time you can, as there is no time-space continuum away from here and now. But join us if you can, it really is worth it. I know because of an experiment I did all on my own a few years ago when terrorists were beheading captives and sending the film of it around the world.
They captured a photographer, I think he was, called David Walsh if my memory serves me. The expectation was that he would go the same way as all the others, held for a few days, and then executed and filmed. Horrible, horrible stuff. I determined that if I truly believed in the power of thought, I should be able to reach across the distance (I had no idea where he was being held) and impose survival on him somehow.
D’you know I was staggered that he held out for 3 weeks, but in the end maybe I was not enough on my own and they did execute him. But if we ALL do it…….
Besides, the power of love is never wasted. Nature never wastes anything, even the leaves on the trees when they fall have a purpose. So join in, together or later or earlier, or both!
Be well, girls (and lads).

I thoroughly enjoyed the get together at Fenix Gym for us ladies this past Saturday.
Not only was it entertaining but educational for us all. Although we feel we know a lot about our
bodies, we are constantly learning something new and meaningful. Sometimes comments made
at these seminars are thoughts that we may never discuss, and yet we hear it voiced by a
speaker – this is comforting especially when one is experiencing menopause, as these are
major changes in a woman’s life.
During our life we have (try) control of our own personal being,
the busyness of work, children, home, and we progress into menopause and find our body, and
emotions go through a roller coaster ride which is quite frightening sometimes to balance,
especially when you are the meat in the sandwich having either adult children or parents that
depend on you and a partner/husband. This can be the most challenging time for a woman,
to hold things together both in mind and body – to be the most tactful diplomatic person around
and compromise to higher levels.
The importance of harmony really comes into it own at this stage of life, and ones emotions
especially if levels of hormones are not kept in control – or really just appreciating how truly
important they are for our well being in mind and body, we can find a real danger to ourselves.
Depression for one, bad habits form eg. drink, weight gain, lack of enthusiasm to do anything
to mention some, which of course were mentioned at the seminar.
I can truly appreciate the need now (noticing the change in just a short while) of the cream I use,
in creating a more balanced well being of myself. It’s the feeling of taking command of oneself.
And it seems hormone balance has a huge part to play. If the balance is correct, the incentive
to loose weight, to eat healthy, to exercise has a better chance to succeed, because one is
happier. The melancholy (the barrier) disappears and one starts to feel good and deal with
life more effectively.
Thanks Dr McGill for the invitation, I thoroughly enjoyed the gathering at Fenix and so did my
friend Sophia. Yes, laughter is such a feel good emotion, we sometimes need the right
situation to let it get out of control………..and overdose. I am sure our bodies can tolerate that.
