So at last I’ve started back at the clinic after almost three months off! Firstly the back operation and then an unexpected (and most unwelcome) complication. I have mentioned my hero surgeon, Dr Matthew Scott Young who did my back. But I now have another hero, Dr Mark Jackson, who very promptly acted on my complicated situation and thankfully brought me back from the brink!!
The patients at the clinic have been a delight this past week. I have had flowers, gifts, plants and altogether so much appreciation that it made me glow. Thank you all so much.
There were moments of course when I wondered if I was confused by my medication or was this new patient the one who was confused about her history. Thankfully for me, but sadly for her, it turned out to be the teeniest bit of early dementia in her. We have tried to sort out some support for her family so that she can stay with them as long as possible. I have given her some progesterone cream to try as there seems good anecdotal evidence that it may help her thinking.
If some of you come to see me in the clinic you may be in for a surprise, judging by the reaction of the patients I have seen so far! I have given away the time consuming effort to stay blonde and gone back to my original colouring of dark brown. It would probably be true to say it suits me better as it was my natural colour, but any impression of re-gained youth is gone when I stand and walk as I still have a limp and a bent over gait that I am working on! The walking stick probably doesn’t make me look any younger either but it is better than falling over.
Now that I’m back at work I would like to have comments and emails from my readers to see if there are issues that you would like addressed. There are things that come up that have been dealt with before but occasionally there is some information that has come to light that maybe should be passed on.
