I have often spoken often about the energy universe and the fact that everything in it, including us, are made of energy rather than material, ‘touch-able’ stuff.
The world of science has come to this conclusion, not just me meandering around in a spare moment cooking up mischief! If we are all composed of energy, and that energy has just ‘set’ into solid matter like a jelly, then we are all connected. Not just with each other but with the desk I am sitting at, with the coffee in the cup in front of me and with the trees shaking in the high wind outside my window. Even with the wind itself.
In rare moments of clarity, where we can disconnect from the worries that beset us daily, the electricity bill, the internet not working etc, we can reach for a moment of expanded awareness that allows us to sense briefly what the universal energy system feels like. At those moments we can know that the person in the adjacent car has a headache; we can feel the hurt of a tree that is being cut down; we can sense that time does not matter as there is an endless amount of it, but at the same time somehow everything is immediately NOW.
When you feel so connected, there is no anger, no need to protect ourselves, no revenge, and all is compassion, all is tenderness. In these moments we can reach for and do anything we wish, but in the humility that knows we are only a tiny part of an enormous universal whole.
Changes in consciousness are treasured by anyone who has felt them. Many younger people go to drugs because that is one way of altering consciousness, but a risky way. There are natural ways to alter consciousness, known for ages past to mystics, aesthetes, priests and shamans. The use of repetition, sound, incense will all assist in producing a mind-altering experience if you can let go, be still and feel the moment.
Religions everywhere have used various techniques like these for inducing the sense of the sacred in their rituals. The sense of the sacredness of things is not confined to religions but it has been most widely (and respectably) used by religious institutions for millennia. Prayer itself, often repeated, has this hypnotic quality that gives a sense of peace to the prayerful, and produces remarkable results in the object of the prayer.
The organised religions of the world have a lot to answer for in that they have codified, limited the access to, and forbidden alternative forms of, such expanded consciousness experiences. No longer are devotees encouraged to seek their own experience outside of the framework of the accepted ritual. Forms of eternal punishment are cited as deterrents to stop people seeking to enter the altered consciousness other than through accepted channels (priests etc).
But true creativity, in the full sense of that word, can be accessed by anyone. With some training and explanation, it is perfectly possible to ‘hear’ and ‘see’ things that are not quite in front of you, but are truly present in your own mind at that moment. Some experienced assistance at first is needed to be sure that the voices and visions are not just projections of a sick mind (your own). But the similarity between peoples’ experiences suggests that there is a common unseen world to be experienced out there.
The upsurge of manifestation as a popular technique for problem solving is testament to the ability to enter into another mind state that has the ability to pluck from the energy universe that which is required in the immediate now. It is not just available to good Christians, or good Moslems, or even shamans. It is there for everyone who can use it, with careful training. Like the whole energy universe it does not depend on your belief system and does not cross your lines of loyalty to whichever ethic you aspire to. It is like gravity. It is just there.
Many doctors and priests will tell you that the inspiration to say and do the appropriate thing ‘comes out of nowhere’ when it is needed. Psychologists will tell you that buried deep in our subconscious is all the information that we need to meet the situations that occur in our lives. But what of new situations? Things also come to us out of nowhere to do and say things when we have no experiences to draw on.
I know that when I am puzzled at work, with a difficult diagnosis, or no diagnosis at all, I often just ask the air for help and I get it! If there are difficult things to be said, I ask for the right words and I get them too.
When a train driver is going about his work every day he can sense when something is not right about the day. We have often said that we ‘get out of the wrong side of the bed’ when things go wrong one after another. But the energy is just not running well for us. We should stop for a few minutes, align our intentions for the day or for the situation, create a remedied day or remedied situation in our internal vision and move towards it knowing it is there. Just like the altered consciousness teachers of old.
The scientific world is only now catching on to what has been known for a long time. Wave-forms are the basis of all creations. Thoughts are wave-forms and what we think we create, whether we like it or not.
