The world is waiting….. For you!
Universe: Did you know you are unique and have a unique reason for being here among fellow-humans for this cycle of life? Yes, it’s true! Your particular role may be more important in your family, your school or your children’s lives than in the world outside. (You can be Cleopatra when you come back next time!) (Who said you couldn’t go back in time?)
Me: But I just wish I could have the instruction book or at least a map to tell me where to go next to get on this Path of Destiny. I get so sick of the lessons right here right now. OK, OK, I get that I have to work hard, be thrifty, help the poor, contribute to world peace, Amnesty International, World Vision etc but I’m just sitting here on a rainy day in Queensland wondering how to get up for work in the morning. My Ultimate Purpose seems completely hidden from me. If there even is such a thing.
Oh there is. Definitely. You just are hiding ‘cos your tired, over worked, fearful. You have a purpose related to you and your fellow travellers right here right now.
Who? You mean the dog here at my feet, or the man doing the garden, or the phone call I’m putting off to the bank? Can’t be only those! I mean, I have this reall-ll-ll-ly long life just to be Ordinary?!
You think that’s not glorious enough for you? You think you have to shine through like a star?! Let me tell you there are BILLIONS of stars. Billions more than there are humans, naturally. So what do you think is ordinary about being human when all these stars look down on you, wishing they could be ‘special’ like humans?!
But, I’m sick of this daily, daily, grind with its worries and going from one crisis to another just so I can make ends meet and get somewhere in life. Is this all there is, all there is ever going to be?
Ah, you are like all the Others who have gone before. You want an answer that tells you there is a reward coming, and end to All This. That all you have to do us follow the rules and there will be a good outcome. Let me tell you, YOU make the rules, then let us see what happens…
OMG What rules? Who am I to make rules? Why would anyone take what I say as The Ruler?
They won’t, but that is their problem. You just have to make the rules according to what you think is right and live them. No one asks more of you than this: you did what you thought was right for everyone.
But what if their rules are not the same as my rules?? If they want to punish me for something when I thought what I was doing was the right thing? Can others do that to me?
If you don’t respect their rules around them, yes, why not? They make the rules for their community just as you do for yours. The trick is in finding ways to blend the rules (or BLEND the expectations) when your communities mix.
So how do I find out the rules, with them or with us? This getting a bit hard, Universe!
I told you, you must decide for yourself what rules to follow. Think about it. Treat others the way you would want to be treated and you will find their rules are not so different from yours. But be aware, there are always some in every community who think they know better, and break the rules just to show they can. But no one gets away completely from consequences…
(Long silence)
Me: Are you still there? Don’t go, I have heaps more questions…. Hello? Hello? Who or what are you? Help me to understand more…..(silence) ……”make the rules” myself? I have no idea how to do that! Where do I start,where did mankind start in the beginning as cavemen who did not know anything?? Maybe though, they knew what was in the best interests of the group, and what was good for everyone’s interests, no stealing, no killing etc.
So…….maybe there really are some built in rules of a sort and all I have to do is find them …inside myself.
Ah, is that what “you make the rules” means?! Maybe if I live according to my OWN best possible rules…..all the time, even calling the bank!
